AKSHARDHAM TEMPLE: A visit to this monument is a journey though the gateway to the essence of ancient India and the best of Hindu culture and Vedic civilization. Combining several completely different and contrasting architectural styles of Hindu temple architecture of northern India – Rajasthani, Orissan, Gujarati, Mughal and Jain, this Monument to World Peace has 234 ornate pillars, 20,000 statues, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangle shikhars, spectacular Gajendra Pith (plinth of 148 stone elephants featuring stories and legends of elephants with nature, man and God) and many arches.
HAZRAT NIZAMUDDIN DARGAH is one of the most serene and peaceful places in Delhi. Nizamuddin Dargah is one of the finest pieces of architectural design in the Indian capital with verandas, arched gateways and domed roofs.
Besides the dargah of Saint Nizamuddin Auliya, one can find the tombs of poet Amir Khusro, Mughal princess Inayat Khan and Jehan Ara Begum as well.
Afterward, take a walk at the CONNAUGHT PLACE market; visit AGRASEN KI BAOLI, a 60-meter long and 15-meter wide historical stepwell, 1.5 km from Connaught Place. This ornate stepwell, which was once a water reservoir, is an exquisite example of splendid architecture and ancient engineering skills. Later go for shopping at various markets and malls, KAROL BAGH, SAROJINI NAGAR, LAJPAT NAGAR, VASANT KUNJ AND SAKET MALLS. Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
Embark on a Delhi sightseeing tour! After a delectable breakfast at your hotel, the second day of your Delhi tour will take you around the city to visit historical monuments and popular tourist attractions. Begin with a visit to the magnificent RED FORT (UNESCO World Heritage Site), at Red Fort complex explore SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE MUSEUM and two other museums, namely YAAD-E-JALLIAN MUSEUM and 1857 WAR OF INDEPENDENCE MUSEUM, followed by
a visit to the RAJGHAT and then to LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI MEMORIAL and INDIRA GANDHI MUSEUM. Afterward, proceed to INDIA GATE, PARLIAMENT HOUSE and the RASHTRAPATI BHAWAN. Re-energize yourself with a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Continue your sightseeing tour as you visit the LODHI GARDENS, HUMAYUN TOMB (UNESCO World Heritage Site), SAFDARJUNG TOMB, LOTUS TEMPLE and the renowned QUTUB MINAR (UNESCO World Heritage Site). In the evening, explore the colourful market of CHANDNI CHOWK and shop for souvenirs to take back home for your loved ones. Get back to your hotel after the tiring day and enjoy a cosy sleep.
After a leisurely breakfast proceed to AGRA to witness the architectural wonder of the golden age of the Mughals. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a brief rest. Later we drive to visit THE AGRA FORT (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – a blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture – originally built by the Rajputs and renovated from time to time by different Mughal emperors with red sandstone, bricks, and the beautiful marble from Makarana. The Fort can more accurately be described as a walled palatial city.
After visiting the Agra Fort, you’ll visit the TAJ MAHAL (UNESCO World Heritage Site) at sunset, a symbol of eternal love that stands on the southern bank of the Yamuna River. It was built by the fifth Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in the 16th century. The charisma of the Taj Mahal never fails to impress, given its beautiful symmetry and white marble inlays.
Evening free to explore the local streets, overnight at hotel
In the morning, you’ll leave for Jaipur, the colorful capital of Rajasthan known as the “PINK CITY.” En route, we will visit FATEHPUR SIKRI (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a grand, deserted, Mughal royal city. The impressive and well-preserved citadel served as Akbar’s political capital for 14 years until he abandoned it in 1585 following a drought. The complex is home to a number of attractions that must be explored such as JAMA MASJID, JODHA BAI PALACE, BIRBAL BHAWAN, PANCH MAHAL and the BULAND DARWAZA. Each of these structures is marvellous.
Also visit CHAND BAORI (STEPWELL) in the Abhaneri village En route Jaipur.
Jaipur was the first planned city of its time, with imposing forts, dazzling palaces, and lush gardens. Today, Jaipur is the gateway to Rajasthan and still remains one of India’s most important heritage sites, full of historic charm. Reach Jaipur and check in to the hotel pre-booked for you.
Later you will visit the special ethnic village “CHOWKI DHANI”. Enjoy the cultural program, delicious cuisines and traditional folk dance. Overnight at hotel in Jaipur
After a fulfilling breakfast, proceed for the Jaipur city tour. Drive to the ancient capital of Amer (11 km) from Jaipur. Then, enjoy an elephant ride to the AMBER FORT which is one of the UNESCO listed hill forts of Rajasthan. Amer was the ancient capital of the Kachhawaha dynasty for more than half a millennium.
Later visit JAIGARH FORT “Having the largest Cannon in India”, NAHARGARH FORT. We then proceed to CITY PALACE, a perfect blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture.
Next, we visit JANTAR MANTAR, an observatory built in the 18th century. Its solar devices can measure the day’s progression with an error of just 2 seconds, making it an astronomical treasure that can still accurately make predictions today. Next, you’ll visit HAWA MAHAL (“Palace of the Winds”), a five-storied facade made of pink sandstone. Built in 1799, Hawa Mahal and its discreet windows (jharokhas) allowed royal ladies to watch street processions and festivities. In the evening, enjoy shopping at BAPU BAZAR, JOHARI BAZAAR, and M.I ROAD. Post sightseeing, return to the hotel for a night’s stay.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Delhi airport/railway station for your onward journey.
