Mandu is an architectural wonder in India. It is an ancient City known for a fort built by Baz Bahafur in the memory of his queen Rani Roopmati. This city is surrounded by stone walls dotted with Darwazas (gateways). The beauty of Mandu is visible in its palaces and monuments. The palaces take you back to the era of kings and queens.
Maheshwar, the town located on the banks of Narmada River, is also known as ‘Temple Town’ as it possesses treasure trove of Beautiful temples. This peaceful riverside town holds historical, Spiritual and mythological importance and finds its mentions in ‘Mahabharata’ and ‘Ramayana’ under its old name ‘Mahishmati’ and draws pilgrims and sadhus to its ancient Ghats and temples. This was the capital of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar’s province. She moved Holkar capital here from Indore & built palace within Maheshwar’s fort. Also several popular movies have also been shot here.
Arrive at Indore airport/railway station, pick up and proceed to MANDU via DHAR.

Situated on the banks of river Narmada, MAHESHWAR is famous for its very beautiful and gorgeous Ghats and MAHESHWARI SAREES. There are very artistic temples on the pier, from which the RAJ RAJESHWAR TEMPLE is the main. The famous legend of Adiguru Shankaracharya and Pandit Mandan Mishra was here. It is also the headquarters of a tehsil of the district and a popular tourist destination.
You will visit NARMADA GHAT, AHILYA BAI FORT AND PALACE, MAHESHWAR MUSEUM, SHRI RAJ RAJESHWAR TEMPLE, AKHILESHWAR TEMPLE and don’t forget to visit handloom weaving which produce a large number of Maheshwari saris and fabric.
After the sightseeing tour of Maheshwar, transfer to INDORE. Located in the heart of the Malwa Plateau, Indore is possibly the best place to catch a glimpse of the life and times of the Holkar Dynasty.
