Mexican cuisine is amongst one of the spiciest cuisines in the world. The cuisine is characterized by the use of ingredients such as corn, wheat, peppers, tomatoes, red and white meats, potatoes, beans and rice. Even though there are minor variations in cuisine from region to region, the ingredients remain same throughout the country. Some of the most popular items which are common in both households and restaurants include Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales and pozole. Mexico is renowned for its Tequila and other beverages such as Horchata, Pulque and Tepache.

Shopping in Mexico is often a delightful experience due to the warm and welcoming nature of its residents. Mexico City tops the list when it comes to the number of options available as it has everything to offer from local art and souvenirs to designer boutiques. Souvenirs are easily available in resort towns and are inexpensive. Taxco is famous for its silver jewellery, Talavera for its ceramics and the town of Guadalajara for its sophisticated decorative items. Haggling in markets is a common practice, and you must bargain when it comes to certain products to avoid being ripped off.

The official language of Mexico is Spanish, which is spoken by 90 percent of the people. Indian languages of the Aztecs, Mayans, and other tribes are still spoken throughout the country. Originally there may have been more than 200 roots of native languages.
