Best Time to Visit

The best season to visit Telangana is winter. This state has very hot and dry climatic conditions, especially in the summer. But the winters are very mild and dry. The weather is extremely pleasant from November to February with January being the coolest. You may want to avoid visiting in the monsoon which is from July to September with moderate to high rainfall. The best time to visit Telangana is from October to March.

Cuisine

Telangana Cuisine has a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes that are quite spicy. The main ingredients of Telangana cuisine are tamarind, sesame seeds, red chili, and asafoetida. Here is the list of famous food of Telangana: Sarva Pindi is a famous breakfast dish of Telangana. It is a pancake prepared from rice flour, chana dal, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies. Malidalu is prepared with chapati pieces combined with a mixture of jaggery, cashew, pista, and ghee. Malidalu is a nutritious dish. Golichina Mamsam is a spicy mutton fry dish, prepared with blazing masala, onion, ginger, and garlic. Qubani ka Meetha is prepared with dried apricots, cooked with a combination of sugar, ghee, saffron, and almonds. Hyderabadi Biryani is prepared with marinated meat, rice, and a variety of vegetables and spices cooked in a big handi. Haleem is one of the most popular dishes available at street food stalls, restaurants, etc. in the city of Hyderabad during the holy month of Ramzan.

Shopping

Hyderabad is famous for its bangles and one such type is the lac bangles. This is definitely one of Hyderabad special items. It is said that the Laad bazaar got its name around the same time as the lac bangles origination. Apart from bangles, you can find a number of items such as pearls, jewellery, semi-precious stones, silverware, Bidri ware, handicrafts, kalamkari, silk, perfumes and so much more!

1. HYDERABAD

The city of pearls and biryani, Hyderabad is home to one of the most iconic landmarks – the Charminar. Translating to ‘four minarets’, the grand edifice is built entirely out of limestone and granite, with four minarets on four sides, each of them facing a different street. The Charminar stands in a labyrinth of lanes crammed with shops, markets, stalls and shoppers – one of the best places to shop for the authentic pearls and relish the tasty biryanis, skewer kebabs and haleem (the smorgasbord of food that Hyderabad is known for).

2. PAPIKONDALU

Papikondalu mountain range runs along the River Godavari (Western Godavari) and is located in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Papikondalu is a sheer fest to the eyes in terms of its scenic beauty. As the hills become closer and closer to the visitor, the width of the mighty Godavari becomes narrower. In accordance with this view resembling the middle partition of a woman’s hair, it was initially named as ‘Papidi’ Kondalu- Paidi in Telugu means the middle partition of a woman’s hair. Later, it came to be known as Papikondalu in the local language. The river narrowing, its twists and turns along with the Papi Hills form a breathtaking visual experience.

Its beauty is often compared to that of Kashmir as the area around the ranges is quaint and bountiful with nature. The ranges also boast of waterfalls at Munivaatnam.

3. NAGARJUNSAGAR

Nagarjunasagar is a site of spectacular man-made marvel flanked by equally enchanting panoramic vistas of lush green surrounding. Lying in the Nalgonda District of Andhra Pradesh, the most popular landmark of the town is world’s tallest masonry dam Nagarjunasagar dam built over Krishna River.

4. WARANGAL

The legends have it that it was known as Oruguallu or Omtikonda or Ekasilanagaram mainly due to the existence of a huge hillock which seemed to have been carved out entirely off one stone.
