Best Time to Visit

Tourists can travel to Egypt any time of the year. The best time to visit Egypt is during winter from October to April, when temperatures are lower. The most popular time for tourist is December and January. Tourism in Egypt is booming this time of the year so make sure you plan in advance. March, April, and September are also good months to travel to Egypt if you plan to avoid the crowd. The daytime weather can be quite pleasant and it’s the best time to enjoy water activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming.

Cuisine

Egyptian cuisine contains a lot of fruits, vegetables and legumes. This is because of the Nile valley, the presence of which makes the growth of the same very conducive. Bread is a staple here. It is consumed on a large scale and eaten along with nearly every meal. The Egyptians are also known to add a lot of onions and garlic to their preparations. Tea, usually without any milk, is consumed all across the country. Some famous Egyptian dishes are kushari, ful medames and other meat dishes. Desserts include basbousa, a sweet and spicy dish and Kahk, which is a customary sweet dish.

Shopping

Shopping in Egypt is a superb experience. You can avail a lot of things from various shops and stores here in Egypt. Egypt has some of the high-end luxury brand stores selling premium quality products and items. Its Souks or the local markets are very popular and thronged with tourists and locals alike. Egyptian markets sell clothes, jewellery, fruits, vegetables, souvenirs and more. Cairo has a lot of lanes and markets to shop from including The Khan El Khalili Market which is a very well-known one, filled with a lot of beautiful objects. Portsaid, Luxor, and Alexandria are the other areas that are great for shopping.

Language

Although Modern Standard Arabic is the official language, Egyptian Arabic is the most widely spoken among the languages spoken in Egypt.

1. CAIRO

2. LUXOR

Known throughout history as Thebes, Luxor was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Egypt. The city is divided into two districts by River Nile. 3. ALEXANDRIA
