Gokarna:
This scenic holy place, with its wonderful open beaches, jagged cliffs, mysterious coves and enigmatic quaint temples speak of an evasive culture of Gokarna. The temples offer to the religious, peace of Hindu rituals while sun, sand and surf compliment a reinvigorating holiday.
Murudeshwar Temple:
The glorious history of the temple reveals that demon Ravana threw a piece of the Pranalinga of Gokarna’s Mahabelshwara at this spot. This pilgrim’s and tourist’s paradise alike is rich in Dravidian style sculpture, with the temple having intricate carvings and statues. In addition to the coconut and areca groves, roaring sea in the west and east side towering hills this scenic spot also has the world’s tallest Neekakanta idol at 123 ft tall.
Pick up from GOA Railway Station/Airport/Goa hotel and Drive towards GOKARNA and KARWAR
On the way, cover the sightseeing of southern part of Goa. Visit OLD GOA CHURCH, SHRI MANGUESH TEMPLE, SHRI SHANTADURGA TEMPLE, COLVA BEACH and drive towards Karwar
KARWAR is a small port town situated 100 kms from Goa. It is tucked between the sea on one side and the Western Ghats on the other. DEVBAGH, one of the popular islands about 3 kms away is a centre for diving and snorkelling.
Visit OM BEACH which gets its name from the Om Shape like beach. This is the most famous beach in Gokarna.
Night Halt at GOKARNA
After Breakfast, Visit Gokarna beach later from there proceed for JOG FALLS.
Jog Falls, created by the Sharavathi River falling from a height of 253 meters (829 ft) it is the highest plunge waterfall in India. It is also known as Gersoppa Falls or Jogada Gundi, located in SHIMOGA. The segmented falls are a major attraction, river Sharavathi splits up into four different tracks called Raja (King), Rani (Queen), Roarer and Rocket, these names represent their characteristics.
Post your visit, return for your night accommodation at MURDESHWARA.
After breakfast, visit the MURUDESHWAR SHIVA TEMPLE. This temple has the tallest Shiva idol in the world. The idol towers 123 feet into the sky and can be viewed from a very long distance from the Arabian Sea. This sacred place presents some beautiful carvings and statues, which has a history that dates back to a few centuries (Threthayuga yuga). Bounded by the Arabian Sea and rolling hills of Western Ghats, the place is a favourite picnic spot.
After your visit, drive to Goa. En route Visit PALOLEM BEACH on the way- one of the best and the most preserved beaches of Goa. Explore Vasco Da Gama and capture the essence of the city. (Subject to time constraints)
