Northern Lights in Denmark

Today, you will be transferred by coach to Copenhagen Airport for your flight to Tromso. On arrival in Tromso Airport take Flybussen (Airport Express Coach) transfer to hotel.

Northern lights, the chase, the magic & the bonfire (6 Hrs)

We pick you up in Tromsø and take you by bus on a chase for the magical Northern lights. With good local knowledge we will find the best area for the lights and good scenery for your pictures. To find a clear sky we will drive where we have to, even to inner Troms if needed. During the evening your guide will tell you interesting information about the Northern lights, both the science and the folklore. We will also show you how to adjust your camera settings for pictures of the northern lights, and we will take pictures of you with the lights for you to take home to show your family and friends. We may also visit our lavvu (our modern Sami shelter) and sit around the nice warm bonfire, and roast marshmallows (If we are within reasonable driving distance from our base camp).

Husky Safari Tour (4 Hrs 30 Mins)

After a relaxed drive from around 40 minutes, you will arrive at the husky farm in a beautiful valley just outside Tromsø. The view of the Lyngen Alps is amazing from this area and the combination with the fjords makes this safari a real North Norwegian Arctic Experience.

120 happy Alaskan huskies are eagerly waiting for you, to run, cuddle and play. After a short explanation about how to handle the dogs and sledges, you will get your equipment and each team (2 people per team) and the huskies will take off for running through the wilderness in the cold, clear air of the beautiful valley of Breivikeidet. When you return you will have new four legged friends for life. The husky ride takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (around 15 km). Every team is doing his own mushing during this fantastic experience!

Whale Watching by RIB (Rigid inflatable boat) (5 Hrs)

This trip is highly recommended for photo enthusiasts who want to come close to the water and the whales. We pick you up from the city centre harbor by bus and then we drive to the north of the island Kvaløya, where you will get warm clothes and survival suits that are required to go on board. From there we drive 5 more minutes out to where the rib boats are. In a few minutes, we reach the area where we see the whales, and sometimes we have close encounters because they are curious and come close to the boat to look at us.

We are always aware of safety and never scare or disturb the animals while they are feeding.  However, this is the best way to get those amazing pictures of the whales.  It’s an experience you will never forget! The most common whale species we see are the humpback whale, killer whale, pilot whale, harbor porpoise and sometimes we see the fin whale. You can take in the scenery and the fjords, and look for white tailed eagle, shag, common guillemot, arctic skua and the seals that rest on the cliffs.
